The Easiest Fall-to-Winter Styling Hack

The Easiest Fall-to-Winter Styling Hack

On days when I don’t have a lot of time to think about my outfit, an all-black base for my look is one of my go-to hacks. Every year, I purchase at least two new pairs of J Brand Maria high-waist skinny jeans in black because they are an essential styling staple during the cooler months.

Since it’s mid-fall (or feels like winter every other day here in NYC), the faux fur vest is a seasonal layering piece that is an absolute must because it can also be worn on repeat. A fur vest makes wearing this off-the-shoulder top with built-in choker possible, adds a pop of seasonal texture and makes me feel like I’m wearing a warm hug. These suede over-the-knee boots by Stuart Weitzman are another critical item in the fall-to-winter wardrobe, as they can be worn often under skirts or over pants.

Since this look isn’t exactly revolutionary and is a bit of classic for any city-dwelling gal that stays on-the-go, I’ve found that by adding accessories like a colorful bag (this gorgeous green satchel is by Deux Luxe), an ‘it’ girl belt or an additional texture like a velvet cap can elevate this simple look.

Below, you can see more of this easy styling hack, as well as a round-up of faux fur vests and suede boots. Stay warm and stylish, my friends!

Very winter chic outfit. Love the cold shoulder jumper and over the knee boots combination.

    Thank you for the inspiration!

I have short legs, so I’ll be keeping my boots and jeans in the same shade, but I will be wearing a faux fur vest with them! This is a good look to wear on a chilly day even if you work from home. Thanks!
