If you’re a fashion fiend like me, you probably already know that the color red is going to be trending big time come this fall. You may have even seen purple make a play for being second for the title of the ‘it’ Pantone color of the season. That said, to accomplish trendsetting style now, you should try wearing these two attention-grabbing colors together.
To clearly stake your ground as a leading style star, you could also include a texture like velvet and a splash of 80s excess with exaggerated sleeves (or you could go even more retro with bell sleeves).
I recently found a way to work in both velvet and purple using this Free People belt. I’m obsessed with the serpent ring and am thinking of also getting it in brown since belts are a quick and affordable way to update any outfit (see my previous post on bold belting for additional options).
As we navigate transitional temps, a pairing like this long sleeve off-the-shoulder top with two-tone denim skirt is best worn with booties. This season’s ankle boot du jour happens to be of the sock-like variety and gets an extra star if the toe is pointed. Since this kind of footwear is a bit too trendy for me to invest a huge chunk of my fall/winter budget in (take these Balenciaga boots for example), I’ve found the styles at Mango to be wallet-friendly and on-trend.
I hope these brilliant colors and sharp boots help lessen the loss of sweet summer because it’s time to get excited about a seasonal refresh in style. I see you fall!
