Festive Ruffles Fit for Holiday

Festive Ruffles Fit for Holiday

With Memorial Day Weekend so close that I can almost taste it and the official start of summer less than one month away, I have to admit that I’ve already begun having those living for the weekend feels. I’ve also started to think about my summer wardrobe buildout and pieces that would make my upcoming city escapes extra festive.

It seems like lately my eye has been drawn to all things off-the-shoulder, whimsical, and loaded with ruffles. Yesterday’s heavy layering pieces have drifted to the back of my closet, while lightweight, flirty pieces have taken front and center stage. That’s why I was pretty pumped to come across a new designer that offers the fabulous femme feels. The Australian-born designer Rebecca Vallance, who is known for using luxurious fabrics and precision-cut tailoring, offers a variety of contemporary pieces that feature ruffles, cutouts, and slits. I find her garments to be the perfect fit for upcoming seasonal soirees and fashionable excursions.

I also discovered a pair of stylish heels, by Sugar Shoes, that are at a price point that I couldn’t resist ($55 online at Kohls, here). These were great for packing for my last trip out to California because I was staying at several different hotels. Having one pair of shoes that went with multiple outfits saved me a lot of packing and unpacking headaches.

Below you can see more of this look, captured at the Carlyle Inn in Los Angeles. You can also find additional summer pieces by Rebecca Vallance, as well as looks for less. Happy Memorial Day Weekend and safe travels during any upcoming weekend excursions!
