It’s not new news that I love military-inspired jackets and coats. You may also be aware of my currently favored wardrobe essentials — a good black leather skirt and ribbed, mock neck sweaters (in every color). But, you may not be aware of a new-to-me brand that I stumbled upon while fighting the holiday crowds at Macy’s.
Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren offers casual, vintage-inspired, layering pieces for men and women. The younger brand’s slightly more carefree and rock n’ roll feel expands Ralph Lauren’s reach beyond the classic Polo line. Born out of Brooklyn, New York back in 2011, Denim & Supply channels a more artist aesthetic.
But, what really caught my eye when sifting through their fall/winter collection were several of the currently popular (woohoo) military-inspired jackets. The slim fit is super flattering and features decorative details that will take any simple outfit from every day to on-trend. Plus, the light piece can easily be layered on without much additional weight to schlepp around under your heavier coats later.
