Are you one of those people that are scared of wearing metallic colors or have you graduated to allowing an occasional pop of gold or silver to make an appearance in your daily outfits? I have been the later for some time now, as metallics have become my new neutral. This is especially true when it comes to ground-level items like boots, pumps, and oxfords. That is, until now.
Lately, I’ve been on this kick of breaking out of my comfort zone. So when I saw this pair of gold jogger pants by Free People, I knew I wanted to style a look with them but wasn’t quite sure how I was going to pull them off. After a deep dive down into the interwebs and flipping through a pile of international fashion magazines, I came up with the below set of rules for how to wear daytime metallic.
1. Stay away from tight brights. Keep metallics casual by opting for a relaxed fit.
2. Balance the boldness of a metallic with a solid color (no florals, prints or stripes).
3. Make sure your layering pieces have the same color hardware so that the look is cohesive.
