Bold Belting is Big in Fall

Bold Belting is Big in Fall

As noted during my time spent freezing my tail off last New York Fashion Week, the waist belt is set to make its return to the spotlight this fall. Designers such as Jeremy Scott, Tanya Taylor, Elie Saab, and plenty of others featured an assortment of bold, eye-catching waist belts on the runway last February and now the trickle down into stores and on to our favorite online retailers’ websites has happened. Take this figure-flattering, bold belt for example — I found it on Asos for less than twenty dollars.

The quick addition of this accessory is an easy way to start transitioning your wardrobe to fall. It gives that pop of autumn color, while also elevating any look straight to street style status in only three snaps. The waist-clinching silhouette that this wide belt creates pairs well with a satin cami and could even turn a boxy blazer into a statement-making moment when worn over top.

If you’re really in the mood to go all in (like I was during our recently glorious weather in the city), pairing one of these corset-like belts with a flirty skirt (like this tulle midi) is a surefire way to experience a day in the life of Carrie Bradshaw. I mean, don’t we all secretly wish that we could live out the tails from the rousing episodes of Sex in The City?

This fall you’ll also see more metallic shoes, which is my new neutral. I was recently introduced to the life-changing footwear brand, Vionic, and was pleased to see these pewter oxfords listed under their new arrivals for fall. You see, unlike Carrie and her love for Manolos, lower back pain prevents me from wearing thin heels. So, when I heard about Vionic and how the brand creates orthotic shoes that are actually stylish, I couldn’t help but do a little happy dance.

Below is a round-up of a few of the best bold belts that I am sure you’ll be seeing in an Instagram feed near you this fall. You can also see additional styling options for achieving this look, which I hope inspires you to live out your most SITC self.

This post was made in collaboration with Vionic, however, opinions are my own.
